Soil capacity shown is conservative — rounded up so a buyer ordering by our number always has enough. It reflects ~90% of full interior volume to leave room for a drainage layer and ~1" below the rim. Note: potting soil settles 10–15% after watering — order a little extra if you intend to fill to the rim. Filled weights assume saturated potting soil at ~10 lb/gal for load planning; actual weights vary with media density, moisture, and root ball. Bottom (L × W) is the outside footprint at the base — useful for sizing tray protection, stand placement, or planning narrow base clearance on stepped landings. Grow pot fit follows ANSI Z60.1 nursery-stock standards; the bottom interior is the binding constraint on a tapered form. Brand variance is typical — verify the specific container before order if it matters.

Prices shown are standard retail. (Trade accounts are available) They include any of our 20 standard colors in Low Gloss or High Gloss (40 finish options). Custom color matching is available with a small per-color fee that covers the full matching process, including physical spray-out samples for approval before production. The fee covers the color in both gloss levels. Pre-drilled drainage holes are free if you need them.

Materials & Construction

• Material: hand-laid commercial-grade fiberglass with a reinforced base. The 28"×28"×60" Toulan weighs about 78 lb empty. An equivalent concrete planter at the same scale runs around 400 lb, so two people can move and place a Toulan without equipment.
• Finish: multi-coat automotive-grade paint, hand-applied and clear-coated. UV-stable, frost-resistant, and rated for desert sun, coastal salt air, and freeze-thaw climates.
• Color range: 20 standard colors, each available in Low Gloss or High Gloss for 40 total finish options. Custom color matching to any Pantone or RAL code is available for a small per-color fee, covering both gloss levels. Works equally well for hotel brand standards, architectural specs, and matching residential trim. For brand colors held in other systems, convert to the nearest Pantone or RAL equivalent for the most accurate result.
• Construction: seamless one-piece body. No corner joints to fail, crack, or leak.

The Toulan is a tall, tapered indoor or outdoor square fiberglass planter built for hotel entries, corporate lobbies, restaurant fronts, and rooftop terraces. The six sizes step from a 12"×12"×22" tabletop accent up to a 28"×28"×60" architectural focal point, so a single product line covers everything from reception-desk flanking pairs to double-height lobby anchors. The defining detail is the tapered profile — narrower at the base than at the rim — which reads as deliberately architectural rather than utilitarian, and the seamless one-piece commercial-grade fiberglass body weighs a fraction of an equivalent concrete planter at the same scale. Designers commonly spec the 18"×18"×36" and 20"×20"×42" for residential and hospitality entries, the 23"×23"×48" for corporate lobbies, and the 28"×28"×60" for rooftop and podium statements.

Project Planning Notes

• Filled weight (load planning): see the Filled (est.) column in the size table above. Estimates use saturated potting soil at ~10 lb/gal for conservative load planning; the 23"×23"×48" lands near 718 lb filled and the 28"×28"×60" near 1,331 lb. For rooftop terraces, elevated patios, and interior office floors, confirm load capacity with your structural engineer or building manager — tall tapered planters at 48"+ (and any unit over 1,000 lb filled) are a common point where load review is appropriate.
• Wind exposure (48" and 60" sizes): the tall tapered profile catches wind. In rooftop, coastal, or exposed streetscape installations, the 48" and 60" sizes benefit from added ballast — a layer of gravel or sand at the base, mass at planting, or anchoring per project conditions. The narrow footprint at the base is part of the silhouette but means weighting matters more than on a wider planter. Talk to our team if you need site-specific guidance.
• Base footprint and placement: the tapered form has a smaller bottom than top. See the Bottom (L × W) column in the size table for the actual base footprint — useful for sizing protective trays, planning stepped landings, or confirming clearance against railings, planters, and stair edges.
• Drainage decision: indoor use is typically "no drainage" with a saucer or basin under the root ball. Outdoor use should be "pre-drilled" to prevent freeze damage and root rot. Both options are free; pick at order.
• Custom color workflow: send us your Pantone or RAL code. We mix the match and produce physical spray-out samples for your approval. Once approved, production begins. Add roughly one week to standard lead time for the spray-out and approval cycle. A small per-color fee applies and covers all spray-outs needed to lock the match — the fee covers both Low Gloss and High Gloss versions of that color. If your brand color lives in another system, convert to the nearest Pantone or RAL equivalent before submitting; cross-system conversions from house-paint references are typically only 80% accurate and add significant time to the approval cycle.
• Lead time caveats: standard finishes ship in 1–2 weeks under our PPM QuickShip program. Custom Pantone or RAL color matches add about 1 week for the spray-out and approval cycle. Fully custom shapes and sizes are built to order on a project timeline we confirm with you at order. Bulk project orders (25+ units) ship on a confirmed schedule we set at order. We confirm exact dates in writing before you commit.
• Multi-unit finish consistency: for runs of 4+ units, request finish-consistency confirmation before production. Single-batch production keeps color, sheen, and texture matched across the order.
